Texturing and importing

So that model I was talking about. I textured it and imported it. Now I am even closer to filming some more. Thats's pretty much it. But I am going to try my best to work on The Battle for Axis Mundi as if it is a project for school, because I seem to be able to work pretty hard on those. I figure I ought to be able to have at least same amount of dedication for my own personal projects as I do for those that are assigned to me. Cross your fingers.

Cold feet

I got a good amount of the re-edit in Premiere done this weekend. That's about it, unfortunately. I feel like I am avoiding doing the animation that I need to do next, almost like my subconscious is panicking now that I actually have all of the assets that I need to get most of the film done. It's trying to find a way for me to get stuck on some minor detail, but there aren't any details left. It's an open road, I've got a full tank of gas, but my foot nervously hovers over the gas pedal. Almost like it is too good to be true. Hopefully writing this will help me overcome that feeling.

First Animated Scene

The past few days have been exciting because I have been doing the first animated scene in The Battle for Axis Mundi. The animation isn't too complicated for this particular scene, which is definitely a good thing as I am still learning the ropes of animation itself.

Although I have been getting some work done, some days are hampered a bit by me endlessly trawling through the sea of TV Tropes. If you don't know what TV Tropes is, then you should find out. It's Crazy Awesome.

Tweaking Animation

It's been a while since my last post because I've had a lot going on with Thanksgiving and various other family activities, but I have been able to successfully import my WOL animations into RCT3. The weight painting worked well in blender and transferred to RCT3 fairly seamlessly. At the moment there are still a few bugs to be ironed out, and there are also my other assets that I am still modeling, so I'm not quite ready to start filming yet. I am also not going to show any character animations because I don't want to spoil how it looks. I'd rather you see the characters in action for the first time in the film. However, since I am confident that the character animation thing will work out, I have decided to make this little teaser:

As always, once I make more progress, I'll post here about it. Sorry if it seems like this project is dragging a lot, but sometimes you just have to wait so that the technology can catch up with your artistic vision. Hopefully after all of this research and development, I can produce something amazing.

RCT3 Update

I've been doing some work on the RCT3 machinima that was going to be for the LG machinima contest. It's going pretty well. Mostly I've been working on getting the blue screen to behave properly in my editing program. I also started doing the voices. No screenshots today, just figured that I should say I've been up to something.

Update on the new video

Well I managed to film a few shots today, not as many as I was planning, but overall I am pleased with the progress I have been making lately. Here is a screen shot from part of my filming:

Don't worry, the volcano is only a very small part (this isn't a rip-off of "ERUPTION!" hehe), not really significant at all. In fact, that is why I chose to show it, because I didn't want to show a shot with any main characters or plot details in them.

I guess you could say that I am a good deal through filming it, seeing as how I have recorded approximately 100 videos so far. That doesn't mean that I have finished 100 shots. A lot of the shots have many takes, and some videos got recorded because I used Ctrl+Shift+F11 to slow things down to get timing right.

Anyway, I hope this update is exciting to someone.
